Diagnosis of canine coronavirus:

Take the feces with intestinal mucosa from the rectum, stir them in the diluent, and drop them into the wells of the CPV/CCoV antigen rapid detection test card. After 5-10 minutes, observe the results. Blood tests showed a decrease in the number of white blood cells and a decrease in the number of platelets. Finally, according to the positive test results combined with epidemiology, clinical symptoms were diagnosed. This method is generally the most commonly used, and more professional methods include electron microscopy and virus isolation and identification.

Treatment for canine coronavirus:

1. Infusion therapy. Dogs suffering from coronavirus should receive plenty of fluids to correct electrolyte imbalance. If the dog can eat and drink, only has mild diarrhea, and has no vomiting symptoms, it can be supplemented with food and water to prevent dehydration.

2. Take antibiotics. Antibiotics are used to control possible secondary bacterial infections and gastrointestinal inflammation.

3. Stop vomiting. Antiemetic, ondansetron, and metoclopramide are commonly used antiemetics for pets.

4. Deworm the dog. Use anthelmintics correctly to prevent parasites from affecting the treatment effect.

Symptoms of canine coronavirus:

The incubation period of this disease is 1 to 8 days, and the infection is rapid. Generally, it first manifests lethargy, weakness, and repeated vomiting. The feces are mushy, semi-pasty to watery, orange or green, containing mucus or blood. Some dogs will have fever and white blood cells. Decrease, rapid dehydration, death. Mortality decreased with increasing age. Some cases show no clinical symptoms. It should be noted that canine coronavirus is often co-infected with parvovirus.
