Symptoms of canine nocardiosis:

1. The skin type is mostly chronic, and the lesions are mostly subcutaneous in the limbs and neck. Cellulitis, abscesses, pyogenic granulomas, nodular ulcers, and multiple fistulas occurred at the trauma site and spread to regional lymph nodes.

2. Chest shape is mainly caused by dyspnea, elevated body temperature, and obvious pain when the chest is pressed.

3. The whole body type manifests as elevated body temperature, anorexia, weight loss, cough, dyspnea, and convulsions of the head, neck, and limbs.

4. Other symptoms include enlarged lymph nodes on the body surface, enlarged liver and spleen, peritonitis, ascites, nodular lesions in lung tissue, enlarged hilar lymph nodes, and pleural effusion.

Treatment for canine nocardiosis:

1. The principle of treatment is surgical curettage, chest drainage, and long-term use of antibiotics and sulfa drugs.

2. Take compound sulfamethoxazole, 30 mg/kg body weight for dogs, orally, twice a day, for 6 months.

3. Injection of penicillin, the initial dose for dogs is 100,000-200,000 units/kg body weight, intramuscular injection, once a day, for 6 months.

4. Take ampicillin, 20-30 mg/kg body weight for dogs, orally, 2-3 times a day, for 6 months.
