Steps for bathing an Afghan Hound:

1. To bathe your dog, you must first prepare suitable bathing tools, such as combs, scissors, shampoo, towels, hair dryers, nail clippers, hair conditioner, ear wash, eye drops, cotton balls, etc.

2. Before bathing, comb the hair. Combing before bathing can comb the dog's hair knots, otherwise it will be difficult to untangle after getting wet.

3. After combing the dog's body hair smoothly, it is necessary to trim the dog's nails. The main purpose of trimming the dog’s nails is to prevent the Afghan hound from scratching the owner during the bathing process, so the dog’s excessively long nails should be trimmed off first.

4. Prepare the bath water for the dog first. As for whether the bath water temperature is appropriate, you can let the dog test the water temperature with its paws. If the Afghan hound does not reject it, then you can start bathing the Afghan hound.

5. Flush the dog with water. The owner can cover the dog's eyes with his hands, or rinse with a cup of water to avoid water entering the eyes. When taking a bath, the water temperature is best controlled at 38°~40° throughout the whole process, otherwise, if it is too high, it will burn the dog, and if it is too low, it will easily cause the dog to catch a cold.

6. Rub the dog with shower gel. If you want to make the shower gel foam faster, you can buy a pair of ordinary sponge gloves, the bubbles are very fast.

7. Dry the dog with a large towel. Prepare a large towel to wrap the dog, preferably an absorbent towel, and then dry it by pressing it, which can absorb the water on the dog as soon as possible.

8. Dry the dog's hair. Be sure to dry it, otherwise it is easy to get skin diseases when it is wet. If you go to a pet store to take a bath, be sure to check whether the dog has been dried before taking it home. The clerk may not have checked, and the owner himself is the most secure.
