Horned frogs can bite. Because the IQ of the horned frog is very low, even the owner is easy to be bitten. Generally, there are two situations in which horned frogs bite. One was when someone put their hand in front of the horned frog and it was mistaken for food. The second is that the horned frog feels threatened and bites out of defensive instinct. Juvenile horned frogs are still relatively weak in biting, but when they are adults, their bite force is strong enough to easily bleed people.

How to raise the horned frog:

1. Breeding environment: Evenly spread a layer of coconut soil or soaked sponge on the bottom of the breeding box, and at the same time arrange a large water basin in the box, place it at an angle, and store water one inch deep on the lower side. The water level should not be too deep or too shallow. The water quality of horned frogs is not very good. They spend most of their time on land, so the water level should be above their backs to prevent drowning due to too deep.

2. Feeding: Horned frogs have a wide range of food habits. They will bite almost everything in front of them, and then try to swallow them. However, it is forbidden to feed food such as mealworms and barley worms to prevent enteritis. The young frogs are fed once every 3-4 days, and the adult frogs are fed once every 7 days or so. The food fed each time should be about two-thirds of the body length of the horned frog. The food mainly includes insects, earthworms, Goldfish, suckling mice and frogs, etc.

3. Management: The temperature is controlled at 26-29°C, and the humidity is controlled at more than 85%. The water is replaced every 2 days, and the coconut soil is replaced every 30 days (according to the specific sanitary conditions, it can be replaced in advance).
