Treatment for dog fractures:

1. Provide first aid at the location of the disease to prevent displacement of the fractured end or serious complications when the sick dog is moved. Emergency rescue includes: first, to stop bleeding, ligate the wound with bandages, cloth strips, ropes, etc. to stop bleeding, rub iodine on the affected area, and spread iodoform sulfonamide powder inside the wound; second, temporarily bandage and fix the fracture, and send it to the veterinarian immediately Clinic treatment.

2. Take Baoding in a lying position, and restore under local anesthesia. When the fractured parts of the limbs are displaced, the assistant can pull the distal end along the axis of the limbs to straighten the displaced fractures so that the two broken ends can be reset correctly. At this time, attention should be paid to whether the limb axis is normal and whether the two limbs are of the same length.

3. Do general cleaning of the affected part of the non-open fracture. For open fractures, after general treatment, iodoform sulfonamide powder is spread on the wound surface, and then fixed with plaster bandages or small splints. When fixing, it should be filled with cotton or cotton pads to prevent friction. Minimize exercise after fixation, and exercise properly after 3 to 4 weeks. Generally, bandages and splints can be removed after 40 to 60 days.

4. Bone medicine (Yunnan Baiyao, etc.) can be taken orally, and animal growth hormone, calcium tablets and cod liver oil can be added. For dogs with open fractures, antibiotics and tetanus antitoxin can be used to prevent infection.
