Angora Rabbit is a very popular grass-mud horse on the internet. In fact, it is a common breed of rabbits with large fur production and not expensive. Therefore, grass-mud rabbits are not as scarce as llamas. On the contrary, there are many Angora Rabbit
The Angora Rabbit originated from Ankara Province in Turkey. Ankara was formerly known as Angora in the West, and in 1930, it was renamed "Ankara" in accordance with the requirements of the Turkish Postal Law. Because of its long and fine fur, resembling the Angora goat and Angora cat, it was named Angora Rabbit. It became popular in Europe at the end of the 18th century as the French royal family kept it as a pet.

Historical origin is related
The origin of Angora Rabbit is different: one theory is that it comes from Turkey Angora, which was brought back by the British and bred into a breed of long-haired rabbits in England; another theory is that it originated in England and was bred by the French. Because of its fine and long fur, it resembles Angora goats and is named Angora Rabbit. In the mid-18th century, it was introduced to France, the United States, Germany, Japan, and other countries and bred into several breeds.
The common British Angora Rabbit is commonly misnamed as "cat rabbit" in mainland China. In fact, the name "cat rabbit" is a colloquial name for the breed of American Fuzzy Lop. However, when the British Angora Rabbit is young (before 6 months old), it looks very similar to a cat. The British Angora Rabbit is a breed with upright ears. The ears of young British Angora Rabbits form a triangular shape.
Angora Rabbit is gentle and loving. It does not resist being held or groomed. It is a complete herbivore. It has 28 teeth that continuously grow throughout its lifetime. It should not be fed mainly with vegetables and fruits, as long-term consumption can cause dental problems and gastrointestinal stasis due to the lack of roughage in the digestive system. It is a misconception that rabbits love to eat carrots, and feeding vegetables to rabbits is a very outdated feeding method. The scientific feeding method is to provide regular and measured pellets every day and unlimited supply of dry hay 24 hours a day, with uninterrupted access to drinking water.
1. Bacterial infection
Swelling under the lower jaw. Wounds or scratches can also occur. Try to avoid fights. Remove any sharp objects that could harm the rabbit.
Trim the fur around the abscess, open the abscess, and remove the pus inside. Disinfect with hydrogen peroxide and use approved antibiotic ointment or powder to accelerate healing.
2. Mammary gland lump
Excessive milk secretion. The number of litters is small or not breastfeeding. There may be one or more enlarged mammary glands, fever, and hardness. It is often mistaken for mastitis. Reduce the feed amount by half on the day of the female rabbit giving birth, gradually increase it to the original amount after 7 days. Partial clearance can be achieved by milking. Massage the mammary glands with anti-inflammatory ointment.
3. Coccidiosis
It can damage the bile ducts, intestines, and cecum of rabbits with 5 kinds of protozoa. It mainly affects young rabbits. Symptoms in severe cases include diarrhea, weight loss, abdominal distension, decreased appetite, and rough hair. The liver may have white spots and enlargement, and the small intestine may have minor bleeding. Keep the rabbit cage clean and avoid feed and water pollution. Use a rabbit cage with a wire bottom. Continue to add sulfadimidine in feed and drinking water for 2 weeks.
4. Conjunctivitis
"Watery eyes" caused by inflammation of the eyelids. Caused by dust, sprays, smoke, or bacterial infections. Excessive tears flow onto the cheeks. Rubbing the eyes with the front paws of rabbits will worsen the condition. Rabbits with nasal congestion often have "watery eyes". Reduce fights between rabbits and remove sharp objects that could harm them. Use commercial eye-washing products to remove dust, dirt, or other foreign objects. If inflammation persists, an antibiotic eye ointment may be helpful.
5. Ear ulcer
Papulocerosis or scabs begin to grow at the base of the ear in ear mites. Mites cause extensive inflammation, so rabbits will shake their heads and try to scratch their ears with their hind feet.
Do not let unaffected rabbits come into contact with rabbits with ear ulcers. Drop three drops of oil onto the rabbit's ears, once a month.
Use a cotton swab to apply mineral oil, vegetable oil, or olive oil to visible scabs. One or two treatments are usually sufficient to cure it.
Angora rabbits have a very simple diet. They are animals that only need grass. However, in order to meet their needs for teeth grinding and their bodies, food can be continuously supplied to Angora rabbits 24 hours a day, which will not have any adverse effects on them.
First, feeding Angora rabbits
Rabbits are almost entirely herbivorous. Because rabbits have 28 teeth that continuously grow throughout their lives, they need to eat a large amount of hay to achieve the effect of teeth grinding. Otherwise, if their teeth are too long, various diseases can easily occur. Rabbits should not be primarily fed vegetables and fruits. Prolonged consumption of these can cause dental bite problems and intestinal stasis due to a lack of coarse fiber in the digestive system. It is a misconception that rabbits love to eat carrots, and feeding vegetables to rabbits is a very outdated feeding method.
The scientific feeding method is: feeding a fixed amount of rabbit pellets every day, providing unlimited access to hay 24 hours a day (Timothy grass or Australian oat grass can be used as the main grass, rabbits cannot eat grass in lawns, etc.), and continuously supplying drinking water (it is best to use a ball water bottle, as drinking from a bowl can easily cause mouth inflammation). In addition, rabbits can be trained to develop good toilet habits.
Second, can Angora rabbits drink water?
There is no organism on Earth that does not need to drink water! Some people still believe in the superstition that rabbits will die immediately if they drink water, and even pet shops will tell owners not to feed them water. Just like other animals, rabbits will die if they do not drink water. Some people believe that vegetables and wild grasses that contain a large amount of water can provide enough water. This idea is wrong! The molecular structure of water in fruits and vegetables is different from that of drinking water, and it cannot replace the function of drinking water!
British Angora Rabbit is capturing the hearts of many buyers due to its unique appearance. Their fur is as long as 10 centimeters all over their body.
Perhaps due to the weight burden on their bodies, these rabbits do not like to move and spend their days in a dazed and sleepy state, like a baby who won't wake up.
These rabbits need to be groomed twice a day, and their owners can choose a fine-toothed steel comb. Never let the fur get tangled, as it would need to be trimmed. And the shy rabbits dislike "haircuts" the most.
British Angora Rabbits come in various colors, such as white, black, gray, gold, blue, chocolate, dark brown, light purple, and more. It's precisely because of their unique appearance that they capture the hearts of many buyers. Their fur is as long as 10 centimeters all over their body, and perhaps due to the weight burden on their bodies, these rabbits do not like to move and spend their days in a dazed and sleepy state, like a baby who won't wake up.
The long fur can completely cover their eyes, nose, limbs, and other parts, making it impossible to see any resemblance to any other animal. They look more like a mop. To see their true face, people have to personally brush aside their "baldness".
